Israel with all of it neighbors, India/Pakistan about 3 times, US with everyone

Help me out here - which of Israel’s neighbours are/were democracies?
-
And maybe you want to take a look at Pakistan’s history of military coups before you pronounce on its commitment to democracy
-
Didn't you realise when Julia said democratic, she meant what she determines as democratic.
-
Well, let’s at least assume it means government changing hands without the generals overseeing it, yes?
-
Russia and Georgia?
-
If you think Russia is a democracy, then maybe you don’t understand what the word means.
-
Their head of state is elected, (officially). Which makes it more democratic than any monarchy, such as the UK. Maybe you should look into it. A French kid can become head of state. A UK kid cannot. Please avoid picking and choosing what you determine democratic.

In that time in Europe we've had Yugoslavia, Bosnia, Serbia, Croatia, Russia, Ukraine. Georgia, Albania, Didn't Turkey invade Cyprus! Wasn't the EU part of the Wars in Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria?
-
And which one of those were democracies at the time? Your starter for 10. And no, Russia is not a genuine democracy.
-
The Yugoslav wars.
-
And which part of Yugoslavia was a democracy at that time?
-
Croatia, Bosnia and Serbia.

What he's insinuating is not true. This is a constant lie which comes from people like him. Peace in Europe has absolutely nothing to do with the EU. Show me one history book or documentary which states the EU is responsible for peace; He can't because there isn't any.
-
Thinks if he says it often enough ppl will believe him. Remainers do. EU done more to cause upset/division by sitting as judge/jury over the lives of .5billion. What started as the EEC for Trade turned into the EU w/ an appointed Commission wielding far too much power. Get Rid!

Well said.

Julia, he also misses out that the EU has only been in existence since 1993, inheriting peace and stability from NATO efforts from the 40s. But why let facts get in the way of political ideology eh?

Russian invasion of Georgia. Russian invasion of Crimea. Russian invasion of Ukraine. There's a theme. it involves a country that's not that far away.
-
Also - Yugoslav wars; Bosnia, Croatia and Serbia were all multiparty democracies (Croatia is now an EU Member State, Serbia wants to join). Turkish invasion of Cyprus (now an EU Member State).
