Ms Hartley-Brewer does not see why this particular little band has been mustered: it's because Brexiters have lost the argument, have no case to make, & no justification to offer; no one with an understanding of the issues believes in it. It's an effort to claim some credentials.https://twitter.com/JuliaHB1/status/965342022289821697 …

Quite extraordinary - from jumping up and down with smug joy when surveys revealed that academia mainly supported Remain to whining about "searching 'for credentials'" when some of academia come out on behalf of Leave.
-
Not when most experts are informed enough to realise Brexit is crazy. This isn’t about opinions or point scoring. It’s a fact that 88% of academics voted against Brexit. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out that you’d have to scrabble around for the other 12%, does it?
-
I can't find your 88% survey anywhere - Do you mean the one where 88% of 600 economists thought UK would be worse off after Brexit? Not quite the same point. Can you help with the source? thx

Love the way you can clearly express your point of view Julia without the need for the waffle-speak used by Grayling and other remainders! Don’t change Julia (I know you won’t anyway

‘No one with an understanding of the issues believes in it’ - what an arrogant statement.

"No one with an understanding of the issues." I'm not sure quite why Remoaners believe that they're smarter than the rest of us but it's a truly laughable idea when a professional Philosopher can't make a cogent argument to support his position

Then how come remainers can't put forward an alternative point of view without being called a remoaner ? Selective Opinion - Brexiters like that little phrase.
-
I see a huge distinction between Remainers (Who have valid concerns I don't necessarily share) and Remoaners (Who are so hysterical you'd think we're turning Britain into Soddom & Gomorrah)

The point remains the same though: The vast majority of people who have a deep understanding of the issue oppose Brexit. If I were pro-Leave as an academic, I wouldn't want everybody to know as well because it's highly irrational which is strange for an academic.

Julia (if I may) where do you stand on the Good Friday Agreement? Should it be dismantled to make way for Brexit?

What an arrogant, divisive, ill-informed questn. The CTA was excluded from the EU treaties. So the question is: With currnt variances on VAT, tax, stndrds, visa rqmnts, residency, etc Why r pro-remain demanding a hard border and loss of Irish/UK residency rights post brxt? Why?
-
WTF nutjob! You have no idea why I asked that question so shut it!
