Surely it was your duty to call him out on his past?? Please Julia don't try to white sheet yourself here! U can't say the whole media knew and then try to distance yourself from the sector you belong too.

I didn’t have any proof of anything. Only knew for a fact what had already been in the Mail on Sunday before his wife’s death.
-
I understand, but you don't need proof to ask the question, if that had been done with Saville, Bennell, Rotherham, Max Clifford...when (your words) everyone "knew" maybe we'd have had hundreds of victims less? It's your job to ask the tough Q's?

But you remained to stay silent julia!! That's how people like saville got away with it for so long.
-
If I had suspected him of anything since the allegations that were known, I would have spoke out. 100%.
-
As much as I like you jhb i think you've got that decision wrong on this occasion. Why didn't you voice your opinions of the "known" allegations at the time then? Yes you may have been lambasted but you'd have spoken out!!

Everyone knew......what did u
@JuliaHB1 do about it? Declining to interview him and keeping a sealed lip about it before eventually giving in to interviewing him. Alot more is expected of you. -
The info was in the public domain. What did YOU do about it?
-
I never got wind of the info so I cldnt do anything about what I have no knowledge about. On the other hand...u knew but did NOTHING about it. Also being a highly rated journalist that u are ...ur voice definitely projects further than Joe Blogs.

Ok. But you have interviewed someone twice who you ought not have , once even after your producer was given some “interesting” background on the person
-
If you DM me I will provide you with details
-
Your producer was spoken to in confidence before the first interview was actually broadcast and it should not have gone ahead. Then he was interviewed again recently- I was stunned

I find this whole thing really sad. Those children lost their mother in horrible circumstances and now their father has discredited himself in the most abhorrent fashion. Whilst they’re young the effect will be limited but when they’re old enough to know it’ll be awful for them.

Important point easily forgotten.
