It’s his opinion, not hate speech. In a free country, with free speech, he is allowed to express that opinion. Why not explain to him why he is wrong rather than just shout “homophobia” at him and bully him into shutting up? That’s not how free speech works @TomBosworthhttps://twitter.com/tombosworth/status/964779154649567232 …

I have no issue with his opinion. The hateful part is voicing, in todays society, the idea that a man and women would do it better. Im sure plenty of other, single/separated parents would agree. And my use of “love” isn’t to do with gender, I use that or “darling” to most.

There are many brilliant single parents doing a great job but the statistics suggest that, overall, children raised by TWO parents (straight or gay) do better in life. Ps. I didn’t make any comment about you calling me “love”.

Well I’m not disagreeing with any of that.
You’re quite right, you didn’t, but others had so I just wanted to clarify that.

But in saying two parents are better than one, aren’t you expressing hateful comments about single parents? That’s the absurd logic of your position.

I was just starting to enjoy this discussion. Throughout all my comments I’ve stood by the fact that there is no right or wrong, better or worse. I’ve said single parents do it just as well. I’m happy to continue this as long as you don’t attempt to twist my words.

Sorry, I thought you’d said that two parents were better than one? Apologies if I misunderstood.

No, never. Anyway I’m sure we’ve nicely stirred the pot this morning and clearly we agree on most things! Nice talking to you.
