I do not like or respect either. They are deliberately trying to overturn the results of a referendum before it is even implemented. They are the enemies of democracy and the sovereign people of Britain.

Spot on!
-
There is more to democracy than a referendum taken almost two years ago. The people have the right to reconsider their decision in the light of what we know now. In a democracy people can change their minds.
-
People can do whatever they like in the privacy of their own minds. What they cannot do is disregard or overturn the results of a referendum. That is the law, and the basis of democracy.
-
The people are sovereign.Parliament was created BY the people. If the will of the majority in Britain is meaningless, how much more so the dictats/whims of a foreign power.
-
Except that the referendum is not "law". It was an advisory poll.
-
In the eurocrime gulag, member inmates don't even get the opportunity to have an "opinion poll"... It's all still over there if you want it?...for now.

I voted leave but having been through this shame of negotiations and lies from Johnson gove and farage I would change my vote now for the benifit of the young who's future I have possibly jeopardised
-
Oh Sean. You’re such a fibber. You’ve been tweeting hate about Johnson for months and months. You no way voted Leave! Someone’s pants are on fire!
-
I admit I don't like the tory ethos which Johnson represents . I have a social conscious and fairness for all . I do not need to be affiliated to any political party . I refute being called a lier.
-
Very well said Sean, throughout this thread, I admire your patience too. BTW, supporting Brexit (which I don't!) is not incompatible with thinking Johnson+co are lying, self-serving monsters. Pls consider contacting
@Remainernow as they'll appreciate your strong, reasoned voice -
Take a look at Sean’s t/l. If he voted Leave I’m going to be crowned Miss Universe.
-
Congratulations miss universe. I voted leave but have regretted it since end of story
-
Sean's timeline contains plenty of (justified) criticism of May's govt. But not all leave voters were Tory lovers, not did all anti-Tories vote remain. So I have absolutely no problem believing Sean here - why do you?

"The people have spoken" = now the people must shut up. No. This is still a democracy. We need a
#FinalSay when we see what's on offer. Otherwise in 2019 we'll get a real brexit wanted only by a minority because a small majority voted for an imaginary brexit 3 years previously. -
To work towards a ‘final say’ vote would merely be to give the EU free-hand to negotiate a punitive position in which the UK has to remain. Pragmatically, its unworkable
-
Brexiters say that. But they *also* say that the "punitive EU approach" is making people even more solid and determined to leave! Can't have it both ways. Cake-and-eat-it logic doesn't work in the real world, as we're finding out to our cost.pic.twitter.com/NmVjMQDzbX
-
I don’t care about current opinion polls; I’m just stating that the EU will use whatever tactics suit their agenda. And a ‘final say’ vote will encourage them to negotiate without any intent on genuine solution
-
No obviously. If you cared about current opinion polls you'd have to face up to the fact that most people now think leaving the EU would be a mistake.
-
Why should I care about an arbitrary opinion poll, when you evidently don’t care about a referendum result?
-
I do care about the referendum result. I'm against brexit, but if it's the democratic choice of the UK population I accept we have to do it. That's why I want a
#FinalSay -- to see if it (still) is what we want. -
But if you’re candid; you must acknowledge that a final-say is to give the EU negotiators invitation to arrive at a position the electorate are liable to overturn. That’s undemocratic by proxy
