All this safe room and quiet space bullshit is proof, if proof were needed, that not enough people are getting punched in the face and told to man up.

The idea behind the safe space is that students who, for mental health reasons or otherwise, need to have a space to calm down, compose themselves, or similar, can do so while participating in the events. Nothing more sinister.
-
Ok that's all fine and dandy but if people in education are mollycoddled and pandered to like this, how on earth will they be prepared for life in the 'real world' and all that that entails?
-
In work, law provides for employers to make reasonable adjustments to accommodate the needs of disabled people. These safe spaces are just another reasonable adjustment. Outside of work, people with disabilities may choose not to participate in the same activities as people...
-
without, if they aren't able to for whatever reason. Are you arguing that as disabled people may face discrimination in life nobody should provide anything to make their lives easier at any point so they learn that "life is hard"?
-
Can you provide a flow chart to explain how you've manged to manoeuvre this to the point where I've apparently questioned the rights of disabled people? That is patently not the case.
-
The safe spaces are there, among other reasons, so that disabled students can participate. You said that safe spaces showed not enough people were getting punched in the face, and asked how providing safe spaces prepared people for the real world. Read back through the thread.
-
No need. I'm fully aware of what I wrote and equally aware how quickly you tried putting words in my mouth. You failed and for that reason I'm out of this thread and back in my own safe space. Cheerio.

I can only imagine what the coal mining real
@LabourParty supporters would think of this, don’t remember the ‘safe space’ room when I visited the Mining Museum. Did they have any of the rooms 100s of feet down at the coal face?
-
I could just imagine my dad and his mates if one of their colleagues needed such a place 1500ft underground! Ribbing from those old Labour men was merciless whether at work or in the pub...or on the front line being shot at...its what have this country a backbone.
-
The real
@LabourParty had a heart and soul that was built and needed by working men and women, now it’s just got a space filled with out of date ideology and a hatred of anyone that holds different beliefs. It’s a sad state of affairs. -
Says the guy who describes himself as “I Like being European but hate being IN the EU”. Hate away Jon, there is only one “beneficiary” of this emotion.
-
VT you’re right, so I’ve changed it. We must all be aware of our statements how ever innocent we think they are. Thank you for pointing it out me. I appreciated it.

The tragic bitterness of Generation Gammon. Clearly today's students do plenty of the above but they also understand the more open and diverse world they live in, rightly or wrongly, their mistakes and successes are theirs to make and not that of Generation Gammon to sneer at
-
Have you actually stepped out of the safe space into this ‘diverse and open’ world you claim is out there? Yer in for a big shock matey.

-
If you think I'm in any safe space you're more of a melt than your profile pic suggests. The only people I see that really need safe spaces as per the misunderstanding of what they are designed for is the gammons scared of anything that doesn't fit into their distorted nostalgia
-
Oh of course you must be right, I mean a young person who thinks they are morally superior to the older unenlightened generation that went before?
#Shocker#NeverHappenedBefore Oh and ‘Gammon’...

...please stop
-
The point is there is nothing you can do to disprove or change the course of the generations you are not a part of, it's not about right or wrong, as per my original tweet it's their mistakes or successes to make, not yours to judge
