Just reading your article... what a load of rubbish. "you can't trust them with a pint but you can with a pencil in their hand'. what sort of argument is that? The two are not mutually exclusive. Childish argument, based on fear.

Julia, so your argument is that a 17 year shouldn't be allowed to vote because your 8 year old can't. Not exactly a strong argument.
-
Sorry to make you sign. You take the easy option of attacking the arguments people have made for allowing 16-17 year olds to vote, but you don't present any good counter argument as to why 16-17 year olds should be denied the vote.

To those saying the voting age should be raised, not lowered, countries with >18 voting age: Bahrain, Cameroon, Kuwait, not exactly shining examples of democracy
-
No one is actually seriously suggesting that, are they? Sigh.
-
@SamHooper are they? Sigh.

*Clue: because you don't want them to be able to defend themselves against the likes of you from stripping them of their EU citizenship.
-
Perfectly happy to have compulsory voting from 18 to ensure that young people’s views are fully represented. If that had meant a vote to Remain, then so be it.
-
A new EU referendum, with everyone 18+ legally obligated to vote, eh?. I look forward to hearing you campaign on this issue.
-
If everyone had used their vote instead of poncing off to Glastonbury and relying on the votes of others, it might have been Remain would have won the day. Its all about getting priorities right.
-
It's ok
@JuliaHB1 has come up with a solution. New referendum, everyone 18+ must vote. Join her campaign and let's get this done. -
But young people's views (18+) were considered, those that did bother to vote that is and depending which side they were on they won or lost.
