She is not an honest participant in UK public life. She is a parasite who grunts populist slogans because there's a career to be made doing it. She's not actually interested in the mechanics of Brexit because details are not useful to her.

I’m not a trade negotiator and don’t pretend to be. It’s not my job to deliver Brexit. It’s my job as a voter to tell politicians what I want and hold them to delivering the majority decision.

It IS your job as journalist to inform & educate both yourself (if I, a working class Northener who was not convinced by the somehow not "elites" driving brexit can do so, so can you) and your followers. However I suspect you did but to you it's a game as you will not be affected

Given that I interview experts on my radio show about these topics every day, I think I’m managing just fine, thanks. This is certainly not a game for me.

On the contrary my belief is Julia knows rather more than she concedes (she's not ignorant..in same way for example Dorries is). It suits her to take position she does for her own career/following. She's a relatively smart cookie playing games (allegedly) that will not affect her

Journalists used to think their job was to intermediate between the real world and their readers. Instead, you think your job is to reinforce the fantasies of those who don’t want to come to terms with reality.

If voters voted to repeal the laws of thermodynamics, to bring about free, unlimited energy, and parliament decided they were unable to deliver it (as they have no power to change the basic laws of physics), would they be letting voters down?

If these laws were invented by 'furriners', I'm afraid that's exactly how the right-wing press and its various mouthpieces would paint the situation, yes.

It's your job to be a journalist, apparently, and that used to mean holding politicians to account. Indeed that's what you talked about right there. But you're supposed to use your platform to hold them to truth, integrity and law, not your personal opinion.

Unless of course democracy now is just everyone with journalistic and political platforms exploiting their positions to have more say in lobbying for whatever they personally want, and to hell with critical analysis and unbiased political accountability.
