Surely this is correct though? Salaries should go down, not up. Its obscene some Journalists are on more than half a million a year. neither men or women should be earning that much from a taxpayer funded organisation.

The ones on silly money aren’t just journalists - they’re stars.
-
Hmm, not sure John Humphrys (£600k+) or Huw Edwards (£550k+) can be classed as "stars"...

Not for us licence payers who think they are all still ludicrously over-paid.

Much preferred it if they had reduced their salary to that of the average working person. £600k for reading the news or playing records Unbelievable

Anything which results in Jeremy Vine getting less money for his particular supply of old rope can only be a good thing.

Agree. Any self-employed person in the media who can cut it and has a good agent should be paid what they can get. It’s nothing to do with parity. Staff is slightly different.

How thoughtful. Will they reduce my licence fee to £0.00 as I feel hard done to aswell, being forced to pay for a service I don't use.
-
If you don't use it don't pay it. I have just stopped paying my tv license as I can happily avoid all BBC services and other live tv broadcasts.
-
Do you never watch a single program on any channel at the time it's broadcast such as news or record any program to watch at a time of your choice on any device? Do you have a TV connected to an aerial or satellite capable of receiving BBC? Good luck proving your position if do.
-
You must have missed the last 8 words of my comment ... no I don't watch or record any live broadcasts or use iplayer. Lots of others ways to keep up-to-date. But thanks for your concern.

Make that last 13 words just to get the full context.

I seriously worry about anyone who thinks males taking a pay cut is the answer to this blatant sexist two fingers and a huge up yours from the BBC to women employees.

We've taken the toys you wanted off the kids who had them. Feel better now? That answers your question about the difference between "fair" and "spiteful", by the way.
