      Jeremy Duns Retweeted Julia Hartley-Brewer

I don't get this - JH-B is quoting a tweet that explicitly discusses women being 'groped' and 'sexually harassed' by claiming it was 'flirting'. Was she hoping nobody reads the quoted tweet? Just trolling?https://twitter.com/JuliaHB1/status/956246482138681344 …

Still reeling with the shock at rich old men paying to spend an evening flirting with beautiful young women and those women agreeing to take the payment. Shocked, I tell you, shocked. https://twitter.com/financialtimes/status/956244292812574720 …

The FT claims women were groped and sexually harassed. We don’t know how the women themselves viewed it. Nothing in the FT footage showing it happening.

Okay... So on what basis are you claiming the FT journalist is lying, and what basis do you have for your claim that the men were only 'flirting'?

I’m not doubting the FT’s journalism. I’m pointing out that the author makes assumptions about how most of the other women felt about the event. If consensual, it’s not assault, is it? And why no video footage of all these assaults?

But you are doubting the FT's journalism! The journalists says she was groped and she spoke to several others who says they were, too. How is this 'flirting' unless you are saying she is misreporting and lying about it?

Yes, she can vouch for herself and women she spoke to, but not the other 120+ when there. I think they knew what was expected of them and took the gig anyway. Their choice.

She never claimed it happened to every woman there. But you agree she and the women she spoke to were not just being flirted with then, but were groped and sexually harassed. So why did you minimise what happened to them as only 'flirting' when you believe it wasn't?

I’m not minimising it. In many large gatherings of drunk people late at night, there is likely to be some sexual interaction. If sexual assaults were happening on a grand scale, it’s weird that the FT don’t have footage of it, don’t you think?

You go, girl. Keep defending those rich guys. They don't have lawyers or money or any kind of voice - you be their voice. Keep fighting for the oppressed rich men who can't do it for themselves. Voice of the people, Julia. You're a veritable Martina Luther Queen. Love ya, sister.

Jeez, moralistic overload. All this happened in the space of about 12 hours. Definitely a mission by the FT to cause mischief. Not sure the real reason. Maybe another episode of mass outrage on behalf of the Labour Party/ Anti Brexit brigade.
