I’m a temp worker & my agency asks me to dress sexily (inc what knickers to wear) for a job as a “hostess” at a boozy all male dinner where, the agency tells me, I may be groped. I agree to do the job.
A woman’s prerogative, surely? #PresidentsClub

They weren’t working in the catering industry. They were employed as hostesses. They knew the deal

Read the article. The women were told in advance what the job involved. Anyone ever told you what knickers to wear to work?

I worked in catering for YEARS. There are hostesses who greet customers and seat them at their tables. And there are the other kind of hostesses. I think we all know the difference.
-
You seem very knowledgeable on the subject matter. Previous 'other' experience?

Hostesses tend not to wait on tables, waitresses clearly do wait on tables. Hostesses serve drinks from trays on arrival, show people to their seats and welcome guests to the venue.
-
Nope, that wasn’t what they were told the job would be. Read the article.

Send me the link please?

Respectfully, I disagre this one time too. Air hostesses don't expect to be groped either. If that was a family member who was groped, would you feel the same?
-
I didn’t say they should have been groped. If you bother to read the full article you will know that they were warned they would be groped.
-
No article supplied - but from what I have read, it said they were informally told that some men could be "annoying". That could mean anything: stroppy drunk men, for example. Not necessarily having to suffer being groped.
-
I find it astonishing we are discussing the potential error of judgement of the women rather than the behaviour of the men.

You're confusing "hostess" with "prostitute". If I was hired as a "host" , I wouldn't assume that meant "gigolo"

So it’s perfectly acceptable to grope hostesses just not waitresses, got it!
