If you think Toby Young is unfit to be on the university regulator board because he tweeted about women’s tits but you voted for Jeremy Corbyn to be PM after he took cash from Russia & Iran, and supported Hamas & the IRA, then you’re an idiot.

Corbyn is a Social Democrat. Pretty similar policies to the Norwegian Government. Claiming he is some sort of political extremist is just a lazy attempt at character assassination. Toby Young is an Elitist who hates working class people being at Oxford university. That’s extreme.
-
You need to do a bit more reading. Corbyn is a fully paid up socialist. Norway is not a socialist country.
-
How about you point us to some reading/evidence? Much more effective way of winning an argument.
-
Norway has lots of state ownership, strong unions and good working conditions. In fact Norway’s public sector is about 14% bigger than the UKs AND it has a better standard of living. And no, Corbyn does not want to nationalise Greggs.
-
The whole "he is a socialist/Marxist/terrorist sympathiser/eater-of-babies (delete as appropriate)" is a mark of how rattled the right are. They have no ideas or policies with which to respond, so they keep rehashing the same 2yr old narrative, even though it stopped working.

I've always thought point 2 is potentially an over simplification. Western economies emerged as mixed arguably due to the influence of socialism. Something of a compromise between a broadly capitalist system and government regulation, intervention and oversight.
-
Yes, that’s what mixed economy means. It was socialists (and communists!) who were at the forefront agitating for many of the New Deal reforms in the US, and similarly in the UK for the welfare state. Few people aspire to an entirely socialist or capitalist economy.

Actually, his position is clearly social democratic and that brand of politics has a long history of working fine for ordinary people. The reason any of us call ourselves "socialists" is to reclaim it from the right and to dilute it's effectiveness as a weapon. GE showed it works

Looks like Julia bit off more than she can chew with her pathetic arguments about Corbyn. She has no clue about stopping his momentum

Corbyn is in his 35th year as an MP. Precisely what has he achieved in that time? He’s not even a good constituency MP (I know, I used to be a constituent).
-
Won two leadership elections, spear headed the biggest swing to a uk party since '45 and the fastest rise in the polls in recorded history, changed the terms of the political debate, nullified the power of the tabloids, tripled Labour's membership, leads the only centre left 1/

party in Europe thats rising in polls, and backed the right into a corner such that they have no response other than to keep calling him a Marxist/socialist/terrorist sympathiser, which no longer works. Oh, and won beard of the year twice in a row.

And? I never made a claim about seats.

That’s all that matters. All else is fluff. Against the worst Govt campaign since the war it’s a pretty poor performance.
