There is a big difference between conviction for ONE rape and several assaults, and suspicion of hundreds more. Which is why the sentence was shorter.https://twitter.com/juliahb1/status/949008353879056385 …

There wasn’t enough evidence with a reasonable prospect of conviction to prosecute any others. That’s what happens when someone drugs their victims.
-
We don’t know that, do we? That wasn’t the reason given. The CPS prosecutes date rape cases on far less evidence every week.
-
No, we don’t know. The lawyers who made the decision do. You’ve no idea the strength or weakness of evidence they had.
-
And neither do you. But you claimed to know in your previous tweet.
-
No, I repeated basic prosecution guidelines. You managed to get suspicion and conviction mixed up!

1 rape = 8 years, 100 rapes = 8 years. So if your going to rape you may as well rape big.
-
He did 10 yrs on a 16yr tariff for one rape, one attempted, several assaults and druggings.

-
Nope. And out in 5 under sentencing guidelines brought in not for rehabilitation or punishment but to reduce pressure on prisons.

Worboy's drugged, assaulted & raped over 100 women & served just 1 month for each. The law is run by Liberals and sometimes the saying 'the law is an ass' is true.
-
There’s no substantive evidence of that due to the nature of his offending. It’s suspicion, so the sentence was not for 100+ offences that could not be proved.

Being believed is not the same as having enough evidence with realistic prospect of conviction. And the belief thing is full of legal holes.

It's come to something when we talk about ONE rape. The whole justice and sentencing system needs a radical overall. This type of thing destroys the fabric of society and any sense of justice. What kind of example does this set across the board?

I know a guy who was done for 2 rapes. I heloed convict him. The judge said he must serve all his sentence unless he admits what he did and does a course. He never admitted hed done wrong and still got out early. Did 2 years out of 8

Whilst I agree with your sentiments I can't see keeping somebody in prison long is more likely to help them reform. We already give more harsh custodial sentences than most of the world

I would let him out tomorrow. Then put him in a locked room with his victim's and their family's and let them decide what justice is.
