What ‘impossible position’ are you referring to, Julia? What are you threatening this time on behalf of a majority you don’t represent?

I didn’t ever claim to speak for anyone but myself.
-
You’re quite clearly claiming to speak for ‘British voters’ & more specifically brexists, otherwise you’d have said ‘my’ and not ‘our’

“Unelected peers”? It’s a dilemma we all face every day at the hands of unelected, mostly tax shy, newspapers proprieters, radio/tv station moguls & their very unelected pundits. But we bravely muddle onwards and upwards
-
This issue is replete with ironies. We have an unelected monarch & HoLs, elements of theocracy, remnants of feudalism, & a FPTP system that gave the losing side victory in 1951 & '74; but we need to leave the EU cos "democracy"; except when that "democracy" gives the wrong result
-
Might be the wrong result for you
@Schroedinger99 but not for the 52% of the voting public who think they are right -
Sorry, you have misunderstood. (I didn't express myself too clearly I suppose - even with 280 chars.) I meant the "wrong result" for Brexiters - ie when "our democracy" threatens to thwart the Brexiters schemes in any way.

After we’ve left the EU, the House of Lords should be the next outdated and unaccountable institution we make kneel before democracy.
-
Read that tweet back to yourself James, then delete it.
-
I rather liked it.
-
Why do you Brexiteers fear our own democracy ?

“Democratic”? A 52:48 result showed the country is split. There’s no overwhelming mandate.
-
Except that more ppl voted for
#Brexit than have voted for any other cause or party in British history -
Well, then Remain is in a close second place. There’s an awful lot of people (>16m) not being represented. I just don’t see that as being democratic.
-
It is democratic that the choice should be made by those qualified under our laws to vote and who were bothered to do so. And why should a majority voting be bound by the will of a minority voting?

We calmly allow 800 unelected over privileged, underwhelming, overpaid, decaying lords to participate in ruling over us. What is the point? Why are we so compliant? I don't want to pay my taxes to support this useless shower.

Julia you don't seem to understand this concept of democracy and two chambers in parliament. We can't change the people to get the result we want, we let the process work for us. Come on Julia, you're supposed to be one of the smart ones.pic.twitter.com/GF8NWjAf4j

Upper chamber has nothing to do with democracy, it came about when Barons grabbed power from the crown

The Queen has no choice but to back the majority in the Commons. The deal is simple. Back the winners or lose the goodies. This dates back to William 111 accession in the late 17th Century. I see no problem except for deluded people thinking the Queen has any political power.
-
Is that why Harry is helping change the race of the royal family by marrying Megan?
-
Let’s have a look at your racial purity certificate, ‘Charles’. Oh no, it does not & can not exist, can it? We are all one big mash-up. Oops
-
Speak for yourself. There are three races. Black, white, asian. Thats a fact and for u to deny this is stupidity.
-
Coperate power obviously cant handle it when some stands up to his completely ridiculous comments. Why do people like this block so quickly?
-
You have nothing of value to add to the debate, that’s why they blocked you. I’d love to see your genetic profile .. bits from everywhere

-
Coperate the fact denier just cant handle the truth. U are saying whites dont exist despite all facts. U are obviously an anti white racist.
-
And u are completely wrong about my genetic profile but its not about that. There are 3 races despite your illogical manipulations.
