So if I voted Remain, I don’t have the interests of the U.K. at heart? You are just so very wrong - it is precisely with the interests of the U.K. in my mind that I didn’t vote for the damaging Brexit. The uncertainty and chaos of the negotiations, proves it’s undeliverable.

Who claimed that? I didn’t. I respect Remain voters - very different from Remoaners who are trying to overturn a democratic vote.

Remainer and Remoaner tend to be interchangeable labels from many on the Leave side - but I appreciate you clarifying your comment. Questioning and debating Brexit though does not a Remoaner make - and we are only going to get through this by listening to both sides.

We should just vote once for a government and then a) not be allowed to oppose anything they do b) never vote to change that government again. By her reasoning.

Anyone that supports Brexit supports taking away others voting rights for life. Brexit means punishing those who have exercised their FoM rights and preventing them for ever having a say in local elections of the country they live and pay taxes in.Brexit is far from Democratic.

In retrospect an honest and more clear ref question would have been "Do you want the government to do literally anything whatever the cost turns out to be to end freedom of movement? Or not". This is why even though the moral and £ price is now clear loads still say "leave"

would they say the price is worth paying if they knew they could limit it under EU law , ie only those that have jobs or can fully support themselves, and still have what they always have had total restriction for rest of the world?

I remember in the 80s being told we NEED immigrants due to our aging population. The truth is we do and they have helped the UK. It just been nasty politics using them as an excuse for successive goverments failing to manage our Country properly. They are being used a scapegoats.

Democracy = vote for MP to represent your constituency, who will then vote in parliament as the whip tells them to. Something wrong there should be voting on what the ppl in the constituency want.Or am I missing something here

Democracy, by necessity, includes the right to attempt to change the minds of the electorate. Furthermore, to deny the electorate a chance to change its mind is anti-democratic. Lastly the appeal to patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel.

If it hadn't been for "remoaners" we wouldn't know about the gross negligence of those conducting that joke "sectoral analysis". Do you feel that a single vote means no-one is allowed an opinion any more and must obey the government without question? Sounds like dictatorship.

A democratic vote can be overturned by a subsequent democratic vote. And democracy is the system in which this is legitimate.

I lost the argument about the NHS at the general election because austerity parties formed the government. Am I an NHSfundmoaner because I continue to campaign for adequate funding? Grow up Julia. Democracy doesnt end on one day.
