As a Brexiteer, I didn't vote to bring back power from the EU to the British Parliament. I voted to bring back power to the British people. MPs don't get the final say. We, the people, do.

It's called sovereignty. ie what most who voted Brexit claimed they wanted to get back. You don't have a clue do you?

Because are tasked with the negotiation and scrutiny of the deal. The vote was to leave, NOT how.

What Julia say is that she want to give the power back to the people by giving them a referendum on the final deal with the option to stay in the EU of course... Isn't it what you mean, Julia? Because otherwise how will ppl have their say?

Cool. Referendum on the final deal then. Just what Remainers have been asking for. So glad to hear you’re on our side now

That's because this country is a REPRESENTATIVE PARLIAMENTARY democracy. Power is held by parliament. MPs represent the people. We elect them to examine the evidence and decide on the best course of action.I believe Ladybird do a book on democracy, perhaps you should read it?

@JuliaHB1 it’s not the same thing. It seems logical to make sure the deal isn’t going to be a disaster for the country. Like a safety net to ensure it’s not self harm...Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

MPs have already been given power by the constituents who voted for them. The suggestion was to take that power away from them on the most important issue this country has faced for 50 years. That would undermine democracy. Your logic is in reverse.

Because you elect them as part of the democratic process. They work for us.
