Yes, the Rail industry has announced that but let’s remember that the fares which cause the most grief - commuter and season tickets - are decided 100%% by Government.

Is there anything else that the Rail Industry could do to make themselves less popular? #ThisIsTheAgeOfTheTrain https://twitter.com/JuliaHB1/status/937949369202040838 …pic.twitter.com/PAO7kPvXek

Don't they go up every single year without fail? Maybe there's something going on that we living, breathing cash points simply don't understand? Some law of the universe where it becomes more costly to run trains every January due to dark energy or something?

I think it's about time to start hanging off the outside of the train like they do in India.

Let's nationalise the railway again and pay for doing so with the profits. Oh, but hang on.. Isn't the whole point of nationalisation to ensure they won't make a profit, therefore making fares cheaper? 🙄😏

The Labour party have been dining out on this shit for years. Logic plays no part to them when it comes to figures, just ask Dianne Abbott how the numbers would work, for a laugh.

East Midlands Trains have monopoly routes into London St Pancras. These are most lucrative trunk commuter routes all the way from Leeds Sheffield into central London WITHOUT any completion. They charge mouth watering ticket prices and commuters are held at ransom. Now Price hike!
