I've just checked and can confirm that, as far as I can see, while @JuliaHB1 is all too willing to criticise/shout down remainers at every turn, she hasn't once tweeted about any of the actual benefits of Brexit. Strange that.

But it was warped democracy. If you voted in a local council election and then found you had been deceived or misled, you'd demand a revote wouldn't you? (I do, however appreciate you taking the time to reply at last at least
) -
We weren't misled though, apart from not being made aware that the EU would completely refuse to negotiate our exit in a fair and grown up way.

It's not "remoaners" don't accept the result, they challenge it, constantly. That's what good opposition should always do.
-
Particularly when they have been lied to, or fed mistruths about benefits that turn out not to exist (£350m a week for the NHS for example). £50 billion down the drain, isolated, in a weak negotiating position and at risk of a recession not far down the line - that's the truth.
-
50 billion to the EU over 40 years and regain are country back Or 500/600 billion over 40 years and be told to do what the beaurocratic unaccountable corrupt EU says we have Do you really have to think about that choice if so you are in the wrong country and you arnt britis
-
Well, if I knew it was so black and white...
-
I'm not actually sure what getting our country back means.
-
(I'm sure someone will be along to tell me soon enough though)

Remainers now saying 50 billion down the drain. Their constant harping and love for the EU is the direct result of this. Not getting behind their own country has given the EU the green light to screw us in to the ground and punish us at the same time!
-
I don't love or loathe the EU. I'm just concerned at the reality of the cost of Brexit for the average person in the street. Maybe it's an unfounded concern but nevertheless it worries me, what with salaries stagnant, the cost of food and energy going up etc. etc.
-
Obvious that manipulation is taking place to make us feel that way in order to justify their view of Brexit. Redundancies have been rife for years and no one bats an eyelid, many people forced to take lower paid jobs to survive. Don't blame Brexit for all.
-
I'm not, but I can see the NHS collapsing post Brexit when the government send all non-EU nationals who earn below a certain threshold home - something they've already mooted. A huge skills shortfall would result. That's just one possibility. Thanks for debating the topic though
-
My wife is a nurse. The NHS is collapsing mainly due to people living longer and increased population. Needs a radical re-think, throwing money at it is pointless.

Julia, if you see a friend or your country doing something profoundly stupid, damaging and wrong, how is passive acceptance morally correct?
-
Precisely. If your local council for example, ran a vote, made promises that weren't kept and put the region into debt due to their lies, there would be a public outcry and a call for another vote. Why should Brexit be any different? After all, it is about the country's future

Yes, anybody who denies that the Referendum result was a narrow majority in favour of leaving the EU must be totally stupid, barking mad or pathologically dishonest. Much like anybody who thinks that democracy means we have no other choice but to implement the result.

I'm still waiting for the emergency budget that project fear promised, Brexit lies was not a one way street
-
Or WW3, the £4k per household cost, the collapse of the economy, mass unemployment and the rest of the crap Remain lied about. Thankfully I ingnored all the bullshit both sides spouted.
-
£4000 per household is about right for a £50bn cost surely?
-
No idea. Project Fear were having a guess at the GDP figures and spinning on their guesswork.https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/apr/17/brexit-uk-treasury-leave-eu-referendum …
