Remember, ladies, we are ALL victims. ALL the time. Because EVERYTHING that is EVER done is done to harm US. It’s exhausting, isn’t it?https://twitter.com/stellacreasy/status/935224600866312193 …

Every year data shows the budget hits women much harder than men- yet the Govt doesn't even do an equalities impact assessment. Help me change that by asking your MP to back the amendment to the budget for tomorrow by 10pm tonight!

The only problem is she doesn't say that at all does she? She's talking about making things better and improving society. Maybe you're willing to accept the status quo but some people want to make society fairer.

Just because more women claim benefits or are in low paid job, it doesn’t mean a Govt policy is harming women.

If the government pushes ahead with a policy which will target a group in society which is predominantly female, then how is it not harming women? Are you arguing that it isn't targeting women by design and therefore isn't an issue?

It isn’t targeting women. It’s targeting people on benefits. Their gender is utterly irrelevant. Anyway, most of these claims are based on the fact child benefit is usually paid to mums, which is misleading.

Why are the Government targeting people on benefits?! Surely the fact you are paying it out means they need it?!

Plenty of people on benefits could get work but they just don’t want to. Lazy, or in some cases like certain ‘wives’ not allowed to leave the house unaccompanied. If you’re happy for your taxes to fund these people’s lives that’s fine. I’m not.

The benefits system is supposed to be there to support those who need help. If it isn't being run properly, target the government, not the poor!

There’s those who need help, like the disabled or those genuinely struggling to find work, and then there’s the others. The gov is trying to get the others into work.

That's good if that's happening but that's not my experience of the system. It's badly managed and changes affect the most vulnerable. Those who "work" the system end up still benefiting.
