There is nothing wrong with being rich. There is EVERYTHING wrong with avoiding your moral duty, which is to put back into the system (What you can easily afford) to help others attain the success you've enjoyed. This isn't just a question of £. It's a matter of principles.

What % is moral? At what point does it become immoral?
-
The % of tax determined by the HMRC and mandated by public confidence via an election of a government. To pay a penny less (Even if legally possible) is immoral and a massive middle finger to society who have to pay the difference or suffer inadequate public services!
-
I take it you don’t use your tax free allowance then? As that was agreed by a mandated gov. Public services need that cash desperately Rich
-
Nobody has an ISA either.

How can anyone be so daft as to tweet something like this????
-
it's the hypocrisy sweetie. MY legal tax avoidance is fine, YOURS isn't.
-
So you think paying accountants to invest vast sums of cash into off shore accounts is all above board. How sweet you must be

As a proportion of their income the poor pay massively more in all taxes, vat, tv licence, Road tax etc than the wealthy
-
And the wealthy buy bigger cars, TVs and spend more in general so they still pay plenty on that side of tax.
-
not plenty, they pay much less as a share of their wealth/ income than the poor, whether they buy more luxurious goods or not.
-
Actually you are talking twaddle. The poor pay nothing in tax overall.http://www.thecommentator.com/article/1760/over_half_of_uk_households_are_net_beneficiaries_of_the_state …

I'd love a 100,000 tax bill. That just means I've had a great year!

interesting, as I thought those with the least don't pay any tax at all. It's those in the middle that do.
