Exactly. An advisory referendum with no super majority, leave campaign funded with dodgy foreign money, 3 million plus who've paid tax here denied a vote. Only 37% of electorate voted for Brexit, 26% of the entire population. Reasons to ignore the referendum are almost endless.
You can say the same about any election. Not everyone in the country votes, Creative accounting. No proportional representation
General Elections are binding in law this one was advisory AND not legally binding, meaning we could have chosen to leave competently!
As a nation we should never, ever, mention Brexit again and deny that it ever existed, even as a suggestion. Simple.
Agreed! The only place we'll see a trace of it is in the cheque book - countless very large cheques written to waste money & grow debt. Mad!
People like you have no fucking idea at all what agencies this government has been a prior member of so keep your god shut you slapper
Moron
Haha, yeah you tell em Julia! Who needs those pesky experts eh? We can watch the economy collapse instead, as long as we are free from the 'tyranny' of EU wealth creation and trade. Brexit is bonkers.
You're forgetting the passports, we'll get blue passports. Blue.
@AliAliAfro That meme’s Brilliant! And so true
I don’t know the creator but love their work.
History teaches us that when nations forge their own path in peaceful ways they thrive and prosper. There is no reason to suggest that Brexit will be any different. The naysayers need to get aboard.
History teaches the exact opposite. For example...um...Europe pre-EU.
Read what I said UM “in peaceful ways” can you read?
I can read, what you said just doesn’t make sense. Historically, nations ‘forging their own path’ doesn’t lead to peace.
Um. I actually don’t think you read it. Let’s see - the Swiss. Pretty much peaceful. Very much their own nation. Very wealthy. Independent.
Switzerland? Are you kidding me? Schengen signatories, FoM, single mkt members, EU law jurisdiction. Have a read: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Switzerland–European_Union_relations …
I suggest you read your own attachment. 70+% of Swiss population rejected EU membership. Bilateral agreements are one thing - transferring sovereignty en masse is another. In 2015 Switzerland withdrew their membership request to the EU.
You held up Switzerland as your example of a nation prospering by forging its own way. Except it clearly isn’t.pic.twitter.com/28zBntBM56
