Fine with forcing people to opt in or out. Not fine with the State assuming ownership of people's bodies by default.

The plan is to opt out. No assumed ownership. Merely expecting people to behave like they give a toss about other human beings.
-
Is it okay that doing nothing should be equivalent to consent? Instead of making it a legal requirement to opt in/out (decent human aspect).

What a horrible thing to say.
-
No, that's what SHE is saying
-
She's not, everyone in Eng is an organ donor unlike NI where you have to register to be one

-
At the moment inEngland you have to register to be a donor
-
Not any more, in NI you have to register

No Julia. The State does not own our corpses, our families do.
-
I opted in as an organ donor a long time ago, if it was forced I'd automatically opt out, I feel it should be a personal choice.
-
I would encourage everyone to opt in as I think it is a noble thing to do - but it is a person's decision not the State.
-
A non argument just opt out
-
The non argument is what we currently have. You opt in.

No problem with organ donation but object to the idea that state owns your body when you're dead. Remember this?: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alder_Hey_organs_scandal …
