They are. Why do you think so many are protesting against the destruction & belittling of the last 40 years that got us to what we had?
-
Our leadership in Europe. The tolerant open society we have become. How we built from the ashes of empire to be more grown up & responsible
-
The way we faced down long held prejudices, how we've learnt the values of respect, cooperation, shared values. We value our past alright.
-
It's strange to hear you say this because from our view it's you & your ilk who have denigrated & hated what UK has become for decades now
-
Have bitched about how we tolerate others, how we pursue equality & not insulting other people - hates OUR diversity & sees it as a problem
-
How you whine about the choices & direction we have chosen to take the UK.
-
You don't love the UK, you've complained incessantly about how it isn't what you want it to be... what it used to be.
-
You aren't proud of the UK, you want to wallow in its past and deny it's present.

Maybe if we’d spent more on housing than war, maybe if we chased Google as hard as we do the disabled for money, maybe they’d be proud then.
-
Maybe if we didn’t lurch from blaming single mums to immigrants, to unemployed they’d feel we lived in a more compassionate society.

Perhaps young Brits prefer the welcoming, open, tolerant
#UK we were before this jingoistic#Brexitshambles & "enemies of the people" crap? -

-

Honest question: why should young ppl have pride in UK if same country takes their freedoms away? No EU passport, lumbered w/ student debt..
-
... with equality within the UK massive. Regarding student debt, English and Welsh youth are crippled by it but uni is free in Scotland!
-
Inequality, obviously, what was meant there.

Respect has to be earned Julia. It's not an entitlement. Suggest some personal reflection on that point.
-
Gosh you're clever.
