I don't what border but we're travelling to South Africa and taking our granddaughters full birth certificate (and her) with us, easy.

You'll also need a legally certified letter giving you permission to travel with your grandchild. South Africa is v strict!

My gf has the same problem our daughter has my name, she is polish always needs birth certificate when she flies not a big problem really.
