It felt more like Mass Hysteria than real sadness! And yes I did shed a tear at her funeral, I'm not made of stone.

I don't believe the country went mad I think they wanted to show support for a lady who had been shafted by her husband and the Royal Family
-
Nope, they went mad
-
Yes, definitely went mad. And were then a bit embarrassed and completely ignored 1st anniversary.
-
I know people that signed the book of condolence. I'm too embarrassed for them to have ever brought it up since

I think you tweet today is beneath you Julia
-
Really? You don't think it was cruel to force a woman to come out in public and bare her soul whilst her grandsons are grieving?
-
Today is the annivesary of a death..not what followed...keep up!
-
I am aware of that, it is tragic, but let's not pretend that the people behaved (screeching her name as her coffin moved by) is normal.
-
She left two young sons, who then had to endure their grandmother going on TV and bare her soul because the masses demanded it.
-
That was the truly shameful behaviour around the awful death of a woman who did such good work for the world.

I think for most of us the country lost the plot on June 23rd 2016 and the repercussions will last longer than 20 years. I would take 1997

Unlike you I am a Royalist I think the country behaved disgracefully. The overblown displays of hysteria were very common

Still don't understand how you can grieve a over someone you don't know.
-
People felt like they knew her, she'd been on TV and in the papers every day for almost 20 years.
