Question: how do you "totally unintentionally" use the N-word? The phrase this Tory MP used isnt exactly in common usage any more, is it?https://twitter.com/bbclaurak/status/884426622396383233 …

David Lammy demanded a "Black" Grenfell judge, but that's NOT RACIST ? IT'S A PHRASE THAT WAS NOT AIMED AT AN INDIVIDUAL.

Don't be afraid to say it, said Dumbledore to Harry, when Harry said 'Voldemort'. "Fear of saying the word is worse than the word itself."

Because they get a pass to say it and you and I don't. Episode 5 of Dear White People on Netflix should help you.

The other guy just got blocked as he used the N word. It goes back to slavery. White people should not use that word. Some people of colour

Have taken ownership of that word and use it in context. E.g. Rap lyrics. But that word is not for use by white people. Not for me or you

To agree or disagree, but that is how most people of colour advise me so I abide by it. The episode on Dear White People explains it well

It's a figure of speech she used, not one that I would particularly use, but it wasn't directed at an individual, hardly a race crime
