As an atheist, I find this very confusing. Praying to a God to save a child when it was, presumably, the same God who did this to the child?https://twitter.com/jonironmonger/status/884386391727255553 …

Because we believe that while bad things happening is part of life, there can be intervention. It's too complex to debate on twitter anyway
-
If he lives "god is great" if he dies " it's gods will" How about,"what sort of god would allow this?"
-
God isn't about "allowing" things to happen. If no bad things happened this would be heaven and not earth.
-
Does your god have the power to stop these things from happening, if he wanted to?
-
I do believe in intervention. I get why u could say "but why doesn't he intervene all the time?"but they'll be reasons we don't understand
-
Ah the cop out repost.

So if someone wins the lottery, is that god intervening? Good or bad happens for the most part by human acts. We have freewill & choice.....
-
God given right perhaps?Or evolution?Did god invent evolution?lets hope child has a chance to live & decide for himself if there is a god.
-
Or pray he has a chance...
-
How arrogant to believe you know better than an omnipotent being surely you should just accept that this is all part of a wonderful plan.

we seek His guidance on how to pray, we always want God to save people, but we don't have supernatural perspective, we only have earthly one
