Public sector has totally different culture, creates an inherent sense of entitlement. I consulted in pub sector once & NEVER again

They are incremental tiers within AFC pay bands and awarded on performance,staff at top of pay band don't get any increase & in effect

Not linked to inflation. Pay freeze means wages have dropped in probation 22% in 7yrs. Worst affected public sector. So yes not a pay rise

Hit a ceiling beyond which they cannot go ,however brilliantly they perform ,as now grading panels in NHS are told not to regrade staff
