        Also what about the higher tax allowance which has gone up by about £4000 in last 7 years that's worth about £800

        Public sector has totally different culture, creates an inherent sense of entitlement. I consulted in pub sector once & NEVER again

        They are incremental tiers within AFC pay bands and awarded on performance,staff at top of pay band don't get any increase & in effect

        Not linked to inflation. Pay freeze means wages have dropped in probation 22% in 7yrs. Worst affected public sector. So yes not a pay rise

        Hit a ceiling beyond which they cannot go ,however brilliantly they perform ,as now grading panels in NHS are told not to regrade staff

        This only happens until you are at the top of your band so Nurses who have been a Nurse in the NHS for approx 7 years+ will only get the 1%
