Central tenet of multiculturalism: celebrate others' culture, whilst denigrating your own. Will take decades to reverse this absurdity.

I don't straight-faced patriotism really suits the UK though. We like our country, but we tend to be quite self-mocking about it.

When i left London i found England again - flag of St George & Union jacks everywhere. I love London but

The flag just has unpleasant/naff associations for so many people. Some will argue it *shouldn't* do, but they're there all the same.
