        It's about social mobility and stigma. Children who qualify would be mocked and bullied by more privileged children. Shame, but true.

        In 8 years of working in schools I have never seen bullying of children on the grounds of who pays for their food. Totally unidentifiable!

        Nor does it make you correct, I received free school dinners many years ago, I was never bullied for it & it never bothered me.

        Ah was different school dinners campaign. He got petition against Tories axing free school meals to ALL 4-7yr olds regardless of wealth.
