I don't think 16/17 year olds should vote because they're not adults. It's really simple. https://twitter.com/andrew_adonis/status/877125332243025920 …

They can work and pay taxes - no taxation with representation. Why should you be able to work but have no say on what you're paying toward?

You don't go to prison until you're 21. You can't adopt a child or supervise a driver until 21. Would you suggest raising the voting age?

All inconsequential reasons for denying the vote. The "life experience" angle is a compelling argument though. Hard to dispute it.
-
Not really those with so called 'experience' can also make stupid decisions
-
But it's at least not due to a lack of life experience. If they choose to vote against their interest, that's their prerogative.
-
By LE, what I believe is meant is understanding how policies will affect rights/privileges youth will require later in life.

They do pay tax and can drive at 17. For a long time women couldn't fight on the front line should they have been denied the vote?
-
Comparing an age group, to the fight for gender equality? Eh...
-
Not sure any 'average guy' can tell me anything about gender equality
-
You've just tried comparing an age group to a gender... I don't think you're too clued up old Carol.
-
Just compared one groups quest for equality with another's - sorry if I went too fast for you

Women were only recently allowed to fight in front line army units, should they also have been denied the vote until recently too?
