We had a very big clue as to what the electorate want. It was when we were all asked specifically about this very issue just a year ago.

Can we be honest for once? Millions of people answered the question on the ballot, united only by the wording of that question.

What percentage of those who voted Leave would you say wanted a Norway option, or to stay in the Single Market?

It's quite curious how this idea that leaving the EU isn't the same as leaving the single market, & custom union has been allowed to fester.

Was the referendum question "Should the UK remain a member of the EU or leave the EU in favour of EEA membership?" ?

No. It was silent on that, just like it was silent on dog passports. The deal is for the government/country to decide. Obviously.

Indeed it was. So it would be wholly inappropriate were it to be that exit occurs in name but not spirit, which would be the case with EEA.

You're the first of her followers to make a workable point. If you say the spirit of the 52% vote was the hardest possible crash, fine.

The problem is, you don't know what the spirit of the vote is. We know what the 48% wanted. How many of the 52% wanted to stay in SM?

It was 52/48 hardly a ringing endorsement for Brexit Julia.

Funny how Referendum doesn't count because it was 52/48, election doesn't count even though Cons had more votes than Lab, etc, etc 🤔

Quite. Say the spirit of the vote was to end free movement. That's a decent Leave argument. Don't lie and say we specifically voted on that.
