Never a good idea. Had so many problems with EU & other nursing staff not understanding patients or severity of conditions, etc.
-
Had elderly family members who couldn't understand nurses & vice versa-frightening & isolating. Many danger areas due 2 poor language skills

I want my doctors and nurses to be medically competent. I dint want to discuss the novels of Wordsworth with them.
-
This isn't about passing an exam in literary appreciation. This is about basic language skills to be able to communicate what patients.
-
Which is why both the RCN and Patients' Association are worried about the poor language skills of many foreign nurses
-
Why are politicians & media condoning theft of Doctors & Nurses from poor countries to work in rich countries? Don't they need them more?

Language test has nothing to do with those leaving. My story last week on outflow of EU nurses from NHS up a 3rd:https://twitter.com/ShaunLintern/status/867999392539791361 …

good. they are yet another tax credits + social housing burden and perhaps fewer treatments under health tourism will be the result.
-
Are you serious? These are highly skilled clinicians paying into the system and providing care to our sick and elderly. We need them.
-
they dont integrate. good riddence.

“
@fifty2percenter:@ShaunLintern@JeffGazzard@JuliaHB1 they dont integrate. good riddence.” Appalling! EU staff provide amazing NHS care! -
Indeed they do. It never ceases to amaze me how UKIPers manage to infiltrate us grown-ups ;)
-
