easier to say than to do. Many friends have been through it. I doubt you or I would even get approval to adopt as not PC enough

Well I agree there. And we should ask why? To intentionally create a child knowing u will separate from mother (to me) is unforgivable.

very few babies put up for adoption straight after birth, and even fewer that aren't suffering from severe disabilities. Not easy

Sure. And again ask why is that? Proposing surrogacy while we have 200,000 abortions a year tells us a lot about where we are as a culture.
