FPTP is not democratic, so no I will not respect the result tomorrow. Referenda are democratic & Proportional Representation is democratic.

-
Does that mean you would not respect the result if Labour win? Or are you just resigned to another defeat?
-
It is the system we have and have had for 200+ years. Exactly what is or is not 'democratic' is endlessly debatable.
-
David - the fact it was a system thought up 200+ years ago tells its own story! It's not fit for purpose in 2017 and beyond!
-
It has worked, and worked well. As I remarked, this is a discussion about democracy' and what that might mean.
-
PR in Europe is a disaster. Who gets on the list is just smoke filled rooms. Totally corrupt. And it's chronically indecisive
-
And it's not indecisive. It encourages collaboration, checks and balances and stops one party dictating. There are zero reasons to keep FPTP
-
That consensus is indecisive. UK had referendum on AV & voted against. Wisely. My respect 4 the Brits as a 4eigner keeps growing

The Liberal Democrats are bound to demand another election.
-
Indeed. Every 5 years. Imagine...
-
Nah they'll just demand PR next time
-
Even better.

Because people respected the Brexit vote

Wonder if there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth...

If the left don't win Gina Miller will take the government to court

Bring it on!

Do you really think the hard left will really accept a democratic result?

I would love to see Corbyn win just to see you deal with this democratic result
-
I'd deal with it by leaving the country along with the rest of the people who pay most of the taxes. We won't be Labour's patsies.
-
The Corbyn tax rates would be no higher than Denmark, which has highest standard of living in EU.
-
The huge gulf between the expenditure promises and the country's ability to pay will result in a massive deficit. Then everyone's taxes
-
Oh you're back are you? Well go and bore someone else please or join Charlotte Church for the losers march on Friday.
-
try to say something new and interesting and maybe I'll hang around. Do you really think people haven't heard this stuff before?
-
That's because it's true and so obvious we struggle when people seem not to get it.
