The Royal College of Nursing says nurses have voted overwhelmingly in favour to support a plan to ballot for strikes over pay
-
-
There's many complex reasons
-
Average wages but unsocial hours mean extra childcare costs, stress of being the publics scapegoat Massive responsibility for LIVES!
-
Yeah but she's a radio host so she knows real stress

@JuliaHB1:@SkyNewsBreak Why would nurses need to use food banks? They earn about average wages.” - Julia your privilege is showingThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Maybe have been average, but my cost of living, rent, childcare have all gone up dramatically and my wages haven't, personally not had to
-
But can understand why some have. MPs give themselves a pretty hefty wage rise but we get (1% in Scotland) next to and some areas zero

Yes average wages that haven't increased in 5 years and overtime and agency work being banned and cost of living soaring

Nurses do not earn an average wage!!! Their pay has not coincided with inflation. Reality is they have had pay cuts!!!

I dont use a food bank, have a comfortable life its called living within ur means. Plenty extra shifts going if need extra money
-
How much do you think an overnight creche might cost for 12 hours, just out of interest?
-
I dont have kids so no idea
-
Most nurses do + not all of them have someone they can leave their kids with. Only earning £15k It's easy to see why they might use food B
-
Well I am top band 5 and earn double and do extra shifts to cover shotages. U earn more than £15k as a newly qualified
-
Band 1 don't and a lot already work 6 days a week but it's eaten up in child care and household bills.
-
The lower bands are underpaid and do things they dont get paid for because the NHS is so understaffed and underfunded and I feel for them

22,000 starting wage for a nurse I'm sure, that's a lot more than a lot get
