As John Humphrys just asked Fallon on #Today: what IS the moral difference between killing children with barrel bombs or chemical weapons?

Assad is either targeting innocent people or he's not. And if he is, it doesn't matter what weapons he uses to kill them. Red line pedantry.

I tend to agree, but we all have such ideas.for example why is it considered worse to kill children than adults -some notion of 'innocence'?

Isn't the difference that you can target legitimate targets with bombs but you cannot target with chemical weapons? Everybody hit

Maybe you should ask the 200+ civillians killed in Mosul by US bomb strike? Bombs are not precision weapons.

This can only lead to more uncertainty in the world, more soldiers killed, more upset in Syria, more aid and more refugees.

Bollocks. Chemical weapons are banned precisely because they are entirely indiscriminate weapons of MASS destruction.
