    Am I alone in thinking we should ALL probably pay more tax (yes, NICS is a tax) to fund better social care, NHS and schools? Just wondering.

        @HildaWheeler the operative word is 'better.' When I looked into these areas more money rarely meant better anything.

        Yes but where does it end? NHS has had money thrown at it for years with little to no improvement. And I'm taxed enough as it is.

        If certain taxes went into pots labelled NHS, Social Care, Nurseries, etc. would say yes but not if all goes into Treasury till.

        I am for a flat rate of tax and zero tax-free allowance. Then there will be an incentive to earn loads without paying 50% in tax.
