My @talkradio interview with hypocritical Tory MP, who opposes grammar schools but sends own kids to grammars, makes the newspapers today...pic.twitter.com/fmzizozAV7

if you take away any schools brightest pupils the results will drop. That's logical.
in what way does that make a comp worse? Kids don't get to share out the average grade.
loss of inspirational staff to new schools, loss of money spent on new schools. Further demoralised staff.
those problems not intrinsic to the issue. All can be resolved. Why would staff be demoralised?
Take away best pupils, parents and staff. You think that has no affect?
those teachers can't be very nice people if they have no interest in least able pupils. That's like doctors only...
Straw man, Julia. No one said that.
yes, you implied it. Why would the best teachers want to teach only already talented kids for any other reason?
/@JuliaHB1 So we agree. Comps will be *worse* when there are more grammar schools.
no, it will expose the current reality
reality is that comps have to take the full ability/motivation spectrum inc. parents, while grammars cream off both
as do faith schools & pricey catchment areas. Much better to select on pupil ability than parents' faith or income?
Yes re faith schools. But parents' income a big factor in grammar entry - tutoring, buying 2nd properties in catchments
I don't think you've fully considered the implications of the logic you're applying here
Ask yourself this, @JuliaHB1 - how good would grammars be if they were not educating higher-achieving students?
huh? Then they wouldn't be grammars, would they? FFS.
You're getting closer. Now think - if you take all the higher-achieving students out of comps, are they still comps?
this goes against all of the research. And is insulting to boot.
I'm curious Julia. What is your evidence for this?
that's stumped her.
