that's why teachers are opposed to grammars. It will expose how bad many comps really are. The bright pupils disguise that.

if you take away any schools brightest pupils the results will drop. That's logical.
in what way does that make a comp worse? Kids don't get to share out the average grade.
loss of inspirational staff to new schools, loss of money spent on new schools. Further demoralised staff.
those problems not intrinsic to the issue. All can be resolved. Why would staff be demoralised?
