To not incur your ire, he'd have had to have sent his kids to schools made *worse* by the presence of the grammar school. Right-o.

no, he would send them to the comp as he wants every other parents to be forced to do. His own kids aren't special.
-
.
@JuliaHB1 It's not really a comp, though is it, if the best/richest pupils are going to the GS. Which is kind of the point. -
that's why teachers are opposed to grammars. It will expose how bad many comps really are. The bright pupils disguise that.
-
.
@JuliaHB1 huh? The removal of bright (and/or rich) pupils will make comps worse, however good they were to start with. -
no, it will expose how bad they already are, currently disguised by higher achievement of bright pupils
-
if you take away any schools brightest pupils the results will drop. That's logical.
-
in what way does that make a comp worse? Kids don't get to share out the average grade.

how is it hypocritical to want ALL children to go to schools as good as your own child's?

I'm against Grammar schools. But if I lived in an area that had them that's the system I would have to use.
-
why, there are comps too
-
My daughter went to a Comp. What if the cream of her school had been hived off by local Grammar.
-
She managed 12 A or A* GCSE's and is projected to get A's at A level. Already got first choice Uni.
