not true - many homes built on previously developed land...
-
-
-
and what was that land before it was developed...?
-
how far back do you want to go?
-
I don't think green belt should be sacrosanct - but saying all housing is built on land that was once green is simplistic
-
So the same is true of National Parks and AONBs: they weren''t ordained by God either! So let's build everywhere.
-
JHB not saying 'build everywhere' but saying 'not sacrosanct'
-
Not sacrosanct means OK to build on some. Her logic applies to NPs and AONBs too. Bad.

you do realise the green belt "solution" is being pushed by the building industry because it is cheaper & increases profits?
-
no point in concreting over the countryside until immigration & population growth is brought under control.

Only 13℅ of land in England is greenbelt. Not worth preserving? We need fewer people not more houses!

Houses needed but it's bad enough front gardens are concrete now. Can't lose our countryside too, it's the lungs of the country.

The bigger picture is about controlling the size of the population. It is a worldwide issue. Too many people.

people also need green spaces, and so does nature. We also need room to grow food for the nation.

@JuliaHB1 yes, let's just live on a concrete island with no green spaces, no trees, import all our food by plane. Sounds great. -
some people can't see it this way they don't care about our country
