Merkel is happy to welcome 1mill Syrians to Germany but not to guarantee Britons a life there. I think that tells us all we need to know.

don't think so. Her popularity is still soaring high...do some research before pontificatinghttps://twitter.com/AlbertoNardelli/status/800027060819423232 …

@AlbertoNardelli I didn't say anything to contradict that, did I? -
I mean, you literally did. Impressive attention spanhttps://twitter.com/JuliaHB1/status/803888155636043776 …

"many Germans" doesn't imply that she is losing popularity. Many Germans didn't vote for her. Do you need a nap?

I see you've found the random question generator: http://randomquestions.net/random-question-generator …

3 Qs. 1. Are Brits ravaged by war? 2. Have A50 negotiations started yet? 3. Can Merkel speak for EU27? No to all 3

You really expect Germany to turn around and guarantee Britons a right to live there, when the UK doesn't want the same thing?!?
-
too dam right i do, people like myself have been in Germany over 20 yrs, so we also have financial ties, same as Germans
-
btw, if you've lived in Germany for over 20 years I am pretty positive applying for citizenship shouldn't be too hard
-
as a last resort we'll have too,but it still sucks having Politicians screwing with peoples lives
-
Well, make sure you don't get another Tory government is all I can say to that...

it's Britain that's turning its back in European friendship. Refugees are those seeking refuge. Merkel is right to offer it.

A friend in need, is a friend indeed. We quickly learn who are the true ones. When we need them most!

Brits are running away from their "friendship".

yeah, for once most Germans are still educated enough to tell the difference between a refugee and a migrant.

that's OK,its the bosses of VW, merc and BMW who will make the final decision.
-
that's rubbish. They all opposed Russian sanctions and couldn't prevent them. Germany is not run that way
-
we are Germany's 3rd largest export mkt. Russia is 16th.and Merkel's hands were tied by UN. Our case is very different.
-
11th biggest export & 7th biggest import mkt. Crucial for German motor/chemical industry. And UN had no involvement
-
Russia has a permanent veto so UN sanctions would be blocked. Protecting the single mkt is key to Germany.
-
yes it is EU not UN,sorry. But we are a far more important counterpart. We buy 20% of their car output.pragmatism will win.
