No one feels a failure in a comp, children feel failures when the state says at 10 'you're not academic.'
I did not pass 11+ and didn't feel a failure
Good for you. I hear plenty of stories from those who do & see the effect on my daughter.

kids view the news through the prism of their parents reaction.
have you asked them? How do you know lots of them don't? My mum always did.
My daughter failed the 11+, got 10 GCSE As & says 'I'm not clever I just worked hard.' The 11+ judges, kids believe.
