Stunningly good customer letter from Apple. Do you want them or EU statist bureaucrats? Pick one.http://www.apple.com/ie/customer-letter/ …

what's their "fair share?" You don't think it weird that the EU is forcing a company to pay tax to a country that doesn't want it?
-
Irish govt can't pick and choose which bits of EU rules it obeys. Can't take bailouts while flouting EU tax/state aid rules
-
they are disputing the ruling. State aid now seemingly defined as "you're not taxing people enough" by the European Commission.
-
Not at all. It's "You're not taxing companies the same". Irish don't have differential deals for people do they?
-
we do in the UK. Top earners pay a higher % of income tax than low earners, for example.
-
The rate is the same for everybody on each slice. Government doesn't negotiate deals for individuals.
-
not true of, say, non-dom status. Also, different rules for married and unmarried couples re: inheritance tax.
-
Not seeing relevant differential. All married get same treatment; all non Doms. No one individual is a category.

That might be true, however the country where they operate may lose out if they decide to move.
