Amazing how many people think it's wrong for schools to select on academic ability but it's ok to select on parents' religious beliefs. Doh!

We just need to accept that selection by ability is a bad thing (for some reason)

Why might employers want the 'best person' for the job? Is this not selection on ability? People are simply not thinking straight.

Schools that embrace and nurture intellect regardless of background are just what is needed to increase social mobility.

Having schools that just push great minds through the same sausage factory as those who aren't as clever is insane.

Many on the left embrace selection by ability re sport or the arts like music whilst academic selection must be verboten; Bonkers!

I have some sympathy for the argument that many children are not ready to cope with academic selection in Year 6.

Julia, can I ask where you stand on the issue of single-faith schools which practise quasi-sectarian employment policies?

If I my time again, schools should base intake on girls who are more likely to say "yes" if you asked them out.

@soyoprincess State education is meant to be fair/equal so it has to be secular. If you want a faith school, go private.
