Questions to ask people who oppose grammar schools: 1. what kind of school did they attend? 2. what kind of school do their children attend?
absolutely. But an excellent education for bright kids is different to an excellent education for average or below average kids

one problem with grammars is they make decision on kids' potential at a fixed time. Kids develop at different rates
-
yes, but can solve that my having 12+, 13+ and 14+ too.
-
I can imagine how beneficial that would be...especially to the dregs left at 15
-
dregs? That's your view of children, not mine. Not everyone is bright enough for grammar school. Get over it.
-
... Great for kids bright at 11, crop for everyone else. And 'get over it' as a debating tactic is overdone here, and a bit weak
