Questions to ask people who oppose grammar schools: 1. what kind of school did they attend? 2. what kind of school do their children attend?

lots of data shows poorer kids get left behind, 11 too young too - and middle classes tutor kids to get into selective schools

yes, in 1950s and now with so few grammar schools, but not if one in EVERY neighbourhood, and possible to allow entry later too

I'm not vehemently anti-grammars - they can lift some poorer kids (I was not well off) - but I think they imbalance overall
