Am so fed up with this term time holiday dad insisting his kid has a great attendance record. She misses FOUR WEEKS of school every year!

you really are a cow aren't you

-
you really aren't too bright, are you?
-
I got 5 A's bro
-
five A grades and you still can't tell the difference between a woman and a man?
-
oh no I can
Sorry it's just a little hard to tell looking at your profile picture... -
oh dear, that was just tragic.
-
Much like your life I assume
-
I think you need to work on your comebacks. Trying too hard.

i politely disagree. If it hadn't of being for me leaving school during term I'd have never had holidays with my father.
-
that may be the case, but maybe if you had been at school those weeks, you might know the difference between "of" and "have".
-
apologies. A few drinks this evening. :) My point stands though. If she maintains her school performance, then what is the harm?
-
it harms her attitude towards authority & it harms other kids in her class who have to wait while she is taught what she missed.
-
i doubt this will be make or break in attitude towards authority, and it is her responsibility to catch up, not the others to wait
-
at least this was how it worked for me.
-
not if every child's parents take the same view and a handful of kids are away every week of term.
-
perhaps, but is that likely?

As a former teacher, the disruption and extra work on classroom teachers caused by selfish parents is unacceptable.

is a bit of missed school better or worse than being stigmatized by some nasty old lady on the radio ?
