The stress only comes from the school, not the kids. Teachers are just scared the external marking of these tests will expose poor standards

@JuliaHB1 my youngest school told them nothing about sats. Turned up one day and sprung the test on them. No drama. Done and dusted. Easy. -

@JuliaHB1 If that's the case the parents and child should not be told the individual results. Less pressure for the kids that way.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

If coached right older children can enjoy challenging themselves Younger children don't even realise they're being tested

@JuliaHB1 But children feel that they are being tested. And should 6 year olds be put through that stress? I don't think so. -

@KulganofCrydee@Drac49@JuliaHB1 We had weekly tests at my primary school. It constantly outperformed others in area in numeracy/literacy.

@JuliaHB1 but they're used to assess children... by your argument ALL exams are a measure of what teachers have taught...Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

@JuliaHB1 @LadyWifeDee if that's true, why force children to re sit in year 7 if they fail? -
@MalcolmAllard Standards!!
I'm totally cool if they want to test them. As long as we don't pile the pressure on mine are fine with it. -
@LadyWifeDee yeah, testing and assessment is important, but system now feels like they teach to test not to educate.
-
@MalcolmAllard Depends on the teacher I think. Certainly I can think of some who are just test teaching, but not all do. Luck of the draw!
-
@LadyWifeDee fair comment. Shouldn't be down to luck though. Glad to see Gove go, but Morgan just as bad.
-
@MalcolmAllard She is ridiculous. Awful woman.
